Terms and conditions and general advice
We ask that before booking with us that you read the following, as by placing a booking you will be entering into a binding contract which includes the terms and conditions below.
Deposits
You may be asked to send a deposit to confirm your place on the tour, this will be confirmed at the time of your booking.
Cancellation Charges
Any deposits paid for your guided tour are non-refundable upon cancellation, however they can be transferred to another tour if re-booked within 2 weeks from the date of your cancellation. If you have to cancel, please ensure that you notify us by phone no later than 24 hours before a tour is to commence.
As you will be separately bound by any terms and conditions placed upon you by the establishment where you intend to stay at, which may result in both the loss of any deposit paid to them and potentially being liable for the full cost of your stay if they are unable to re-let your room, we strongly advise you to take out appropriate holiday and travel insurance to cover any cancellation costs that you may incur, or any other incidents that may arise during your stay.
Advertised cost of Tours
Unless otherwise stated, the advertised cost of the tour will only cover the services of the guide during the day. Unless you are collected by your guide, you will be responsible for travel to, and in between sites during the day. The advertised cost does not include the cost of any lunch taken, nor any applicable parking, entrance or permit fees.
Complaints and Liability
In the unlikely event of your dissatisfaction at any aspect of the birdwatching tour, any complaints that you have should be brought to the attention of your leader at the time of the occurence of the incident and we will do our utmost to rectify any issues as soon as possible.
We accept no liability in respect of either loss or damage of, or to, personal effects, or for your personal injury, unless resulting from proven negligence of your tour leader. Clients are advised to obtain adequate insurance against personal loss and injury before travelling. Also given the cost of birdwatching equipment such as binoculars, telescopes and cameras etc, if your optics are not covered by your home insurance, then we would recommend that you take out cover to protect you against accidental damage to, or loss of your equipment, not only for your tour but for birdwatching in general.
Our right to cancel or alter advertised tours
We reserve the right to alter or cancel any specific tour advertised should matters beyond our control make it necessary to. These could include adverse weather conditions such as flooding, closure of the countryside following the imposing of an exclusion zone due to an animal disease outbreak, or the closure of reserves or any other land by the owners for any other reason. In such circumstances we will contact you and discuss any necessary changes with you and agree either an alternative schedule, to rearrange the tour at a later date or to cancel the tour completely.
Conduct of Participants
All instructions, especially regarding health and safety matters, that are given by the tour leader to the participants of the tour should be complied with at all times.
In the very unlikely event that any person participating on the tour is unable or unwilling to conduct themselves in a manner that will ensure the safe and satisfactory conducting of the tour, especially if their behaviour is detrimental to the health and safety of either themselves or any of the other participants, or causes any disturbance to the birds that we are trying to see, we reserve the right, after issuing a warning regarding their conduct, to remove that person from the tour with immediate effect. If it does become necessary to remove any participant due to their unreasonable behaviour, no refund will be issued in relation to the tour price already paid.
No smoking shall take place in the tour vehicle or any other place where smoking is prohibited by law.
Due to the places that we visit, potential disturbance to birds, and to respect other birdwatchers, regretably no dogs will be allowed on our tours.
Data Protection
We may hold on record the names and contact details of all the participants on our tours, and may periodically contact you to inform you of future tours or special offers etc. If you do not wish to be contacted then please let us know.
We will not pass your details on to any other person unless legally required to do so by law.
